Special recognition to the Green CertificationTM product of Invaluable Technologies in the 2009 EPA’s Energy Star awards

A large customer of Invaluable Technologies in the mid-west has received special recognition in the 2009 EPA's ENERGY STAR Awards; for innovation in customer service and for facilitating building energy performance tracking for its customers. (See pg. 57 in http://www.energystar.gov/ia/partners/pt_awards/2009_profiles_in_leaders...)

This utility had launched a web-based system called the Energy Usage Data, the custom deployment of the Green CertificationTM product of
Invaluable Technologies, to provide business customers with improved building data—addressing a key barrier to measuring and tracking building energy performance by providing this system directly to its customers. This system empowers the building managers to improve energy management practices, benchmark, verify and track progress, and strive to earn the ENERGY STAR for their buildings.

Invaluable Technologies deploys key pilot of the Energy Intelligence Suite™

Invaluable Technologies, Ltd. has begun deployment of the Energy Intelligence Suite™ (EIS). This solution innovatively delivers never before seen energy efficiency and demand response features to residential and small business customers. EIS enables customers to take command of their energy efficiency goals, while equipping energy utilities with a robust demand response platform that promotes advanced control strategies including HVAC control, lighting control, appliance control, etc. The deployment will be at select locations throughout the country in the cities of Chicago, IL, Jacksonville, FL, and Austin, TX.

EIS enables advanced DSM strategies and promotes customer/utility interaction via its wide array of functionality. The suite is extremely versatile in that it is capable of full functionality without the requirement of a Smart Grid infrastructure or a smart meter at customer locations, while also taking full advantage of advanced meter and grid infrastructures if they are in place. This unique quality provides a platform for utilities to deliver leading edge DSM strategies to customers today without costly infrastructure charges and transition to smart grid as the infrastructure is deployed over time. ComEd has engaged Invaluable Technologies to work on Customer V1 project

Invaluable Technologies is working with ComEd in Chicago to identify and manage the deployment of hardware and software that will provide ComEd’s customers with more intimate understanding of both price and energy related information. This is of vital importance to facilitate broader usage of demand-response technologies using home control technologies. Home Area Network (HAN) technologies will be deployed to a select number of residential real time pricing participants (RRTP) in order to gain a better understanding of customer-HAN interaction. Currently, RRTPs are provided pricing information via email, telephone and web applications. Invaluable Technologies will use the results of the HAN deployment project to help ComEd modify/develop easier real-time rate technologies. Invaluable Technologies is also evaluating multiple implementations of mesh network technology including Zigbee, Z-Wave, Insteon, etc.

Invaluable Technologies participated in a roundtable on Smart Grid.

Below is a thought on Smart Grid from Invaluable Technologies’ CIO, Brian Kirchman:

“There is no question on this; smart grids are an integral part of the energy infrastructure for tomorrow. Smart grids are a materialization of logical networking in the energy space; similar to other logical networking architectures over geographically diverse regions in other industries as the proliferation of affordable network infrastructure exponentially grows. The demand for real time data communication and distributed networks in the energy space is dramatically increasing, and the Smart Grid, as an implementation of this, is here to stay.”

Invaluable Technologies has launched the Energy Intelligent Suite (EIS)

The Energy Intelligence Suite from Invaluable Technologies is an integrated package of price related applications that informs the end consumers of the cost of energy and their usage patterns. This innovative package can be used by energy utilities to empower their residential customers with real time pricing information, statistics on their energy usage and even send messages, alarms and notifications. The EIS price display is shown in the photo below:

Key features of Energy Intelligence Suite:

  • Price related applications that provide pricing information, statistics and notifications to the end consumers.
  • Multiple delivery channels to maximize information availability and usage with the customers.
  • Available as either desktop software that the end consumers can use on their privately owned personal computer or as an embedded home display that can be shipped to the customers for out of the box use or utility installation.

ComEd launches their Energy Usage Data application, a product by Invaluable Technologies

Invaluable Technologies has developed an application called the Energy Usage Data (EUD) for ComEd.   EUD aggregates commercial building energy usage data to help building managers benchmark their building for energy efficiency.  This allows building managers to request energy usage data for an entire building as kWh value per month. It also provides reporting that allows ComEd to monitor the number of request per user.   EUD was developed so that it interfaces with EPA’s Automated Benchmarking System (ABS).  Through this interface building managers will be able to submit the energy usage data directly to their Portfolio Manager account.

The Energy Usage Data application is enabling more customers to access their energy usage data in a streamlined, automated manner; which in turn is making their ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager benchmarking process faster and more over efficient.
